Tour our recently updated Traditional Style Living Room with this look at our fun & colorful Living Room Christmas Decorations.
Colorful Living Room Christmas Decorations
I love seeing how beautifully everyone decorates their homes every Christmas. It’s one of my favorite traditions of the holiday season.
So, I thought I’d join in the fun and give you all a tour of our colorful Living Room Christmas Decorations, this year.
You can find the rest of my Christmas Projects and Posts here. Merry Christmas, guys!
You might recognize this Living Room from a couple months ago. I just gave this Living Room a new Modern Farmhouse meets Traditional Style Makeover a couple months ago.
You can see the before and after photos for the Living Room makeover here. Doesn’t it look nice all dressed up for Christmas? I’m LOVING IT.

This fireplace got a big facelift when we added the shiplap above the mantel. It’s been really nice seeing it decorated for Christmas.
Most of those decorations come from Target. I’ve been doing most of our Christmas shopping there for years. The whimsical style of their yearly Christmas decorations totally fits my style.
More Colorful Christmas Decorations in our Living Room
Lately, I’m digging using one large home decor piece instead of trying to make a bunch of small stuff look nice. It’s so much easier for me.
Large wooden bread trays, like this one, are a current favorite home decor trend.
A cozy knit blanket and mug of hot cocoa are the perfect way to relax in this blue velvet wing chair I reupholstered.
You can get the full tutorial for the DIY Upholstered Ottoman on my site, too. How amazing is that blue velvet fabric?!
That little gold deer by the chair is another of my current favorites. Pops of gold are a fun way to dress up a room.
Side note: You can see a peek of that DIY Tongue and Groove Porch Ceiling I updated this past summer, through the window.
Is anyone else addicted to those burning fireplace tv shows on Amazon or YouTube? I love watching a burning fire.
Ironically, though, we never actually use that real fireplace. It’s Houston, guys. It’ll be 70 degrees on Christmas Day. Not much need for a fire. 🙂
We switched to a fake tree last year and it’s made Christmas so much easier and a lot less messy. Do you go real or fake?
Either way, that DIY Christmas Tree Stand will look great under your tree. And, it works as ornament storage when Christmas is over.
These birds are adorable, right? Well, I think so, anyway. 2 are from last year and 2 from this years Target Christmas line.
The gold reindeer are so sweet, I’m going to keep them around all year, in my office. I had a few empty slots in my bookcase that needed filling, anyway.
Fun & Colorful Christmas Tree Ornaments Too
We make a few handmade ornaments, every year too. I shared the steps for this string art tree in this post.
We also like to get a photo ornament of the boys, every year. It’s a fun way to remember when they were little.
The vintage truck, camper, and a bunch of other vintage vehicles are part of Targets Christmas line too.
I used that little Red Truck in a great centerpiece, last year.
Yep, those little bird ornaments are also from Target. 😉
More Christmas Decor from our Living Room
I’m still loving this view of our new living room. The lighter color on the walls completely transformed this room.
Did I mention that I also shared a full tutorial for this DIY Farmhouse Console Table too? It’s been a great place to store our floor pillows and blankets. This room is such a cozy and fun family gathering place now. 🙂
Well, Merry Christmas, guys! And Happy New Year!
