I had no idea you could find fabric by the yard on Amazon until I was trying to find pretty upholstery fabric for my DIY Upholstered Farmhouse Bench.
And jackpot! I found some beautiful, name-brand, and cheap fabric by the yard for sale and ready to ship. Some of them were even great-looking, cheap fabric by the yard options.
Then, I checked Etsy, and of course they have tons of beautiful Etsy fabric by the yard online too. So, I absolutely had to put together this big list of the best fabric by the yard online.

Why I Buy Fabric By The Yard Online
Buying online is so easy and convenient, especially when you have young kids. It can be hard to browse through fabric stores with little kids!
It was so easy to buy this Etsy & Amazon fabric by the yard. They deliver it within a few days and the quality is great. Plus, you can find some great, but cheap fabric on Etsy & Amazon, if you shop around.
The upholstery fabric is always strong, durable fabric. And, the colors are exactly as they look online. So, I’m more than happy to share my picks for the best fabric by the yard online.

Thank you for this! I came here via your post on your farmhouse/ rustic style bench. While my aesthetic is different, you got my wheels turning for some mid century pieces in dire need of help! Plus the tips on how you did it were great, even though I’ve reupholstered many pieces, I hadn’t ever thought of using spray adhesive for the batting – genius! I love that most of these picks have a vintage look to them, definitely going to check out Amazon – especially if I need foam, it’s so bloody expensive! Love that you included outdoor fabric links, have a few pieces I inherited in need that would be perfect on our huge old covered porch, make it look a little more like an outdoor room, since that’s how it’s used. It is and their search engine isn’t quite designed to make it easy to find what you like. But the quality of the two I’ve ordered so far has been great! 🙂
I find it a bit challenging to search for fabric on line due to the numerous samples and the need to “feel” the texture. I am in need of a fabric for a built in bench and I would like to redo my loveseat. Thank you for the recommendation to visit Amazon!
