Welcome back, I have more beautiful Model Home Furniture and Home Interior Design Ideas for you!
Furniture and Home Interior Design Ideas
I took most of these pictures while touring local Model Homes. The talented interior designers that work on these homes know exactly how to make a home look perfect. Right?!
I always get great room decorating and home decor ideas from Model Homes. Even the furniture design inspiration is fantastic. I always look for furniture pieces that I think I could build on my own.
Or, that at least have elements that I could build.
And, the way a designer places the furniture in a room, even the size of the furniture and decor they use has taught me so much and decorating a home.
For example, I used to think that smaller furniture or wall art would make a room feel bigger. But, I was so wrong.
Picking a larger couch, area rug, or one big piece of wall art instead of three smaller can make a room feel so much larger than before.
The key to making a room feel larger is to not clutter the room with too much furniture or decor. And, I always have great results when I switch to a white or light paint color on the walls in my home.
Check out this post about the best paint sheen on ceilings for a lighter and brighter room too. Brightening up any room always helps to make it feel bigger, more open, and inviting.
You can always see in Model Homes how they use natural light, lots of white or light colors, and great lighting to make rooms feel larger, lighter and brighter.
I’m always taking pictures in Model Homes, Furniture Stores, and even beautiful Hotels to remind myself of all of the great Furniture and Home Interior Design Ideas that I can pull into my next DIY Furniture Build Plan or DIY Home Remodeling Project.
Speaking of DIY home remodeling, I am knee deep in my boys’ bedroom makeover. In fact, I am about to get busy caulking about a million pieces of lattice on DIY Board and Batten Wainscoting. Wish me luck! 😉

Beautiful Home Design Inspiration and Photos
This is an eye-caching stairway view, right?! This open plan home is beautifully designed. The designer did a great job with light walls and furniture against that dark floor. It’s stunning.
And, this furniture layout is great inspiration for how to set up distinct areas for each room. The area rugs in the Living Room and Dining Room help define each area.
And I’m loving those dual coffee tables!
My husband loves the tile feature wall in this bedroom. I do like it, but as the DIY tile installer in the family, I’m not sure I’d be brave enough to tile a wall.
It’s just knowing that it would be a massive pain to remove that tile. Then have to cut and hang drywall again that would stop me from tiling a wall in a bedroom. Would you do it?
But, I love those soft, lighter neutrals with dark wood again.
This little corner in what looks like a teen girls bedroom is so sweet and pretty. Model Homes always have just great window treatments.
I love the look of these curtains with the 4 knobs. Although, I definitely couldn’t sleep with all that light coming through the windows in the morning. But, then again, it’s not like I sleep past 6 AM most mornings anyway. 😉
I love the whitewashed herringbone wood design on this Dining Room table top. I need to try this technique on something one day.
If you’re a woodworker, I do have tutorials for a beautiful DIY Wood Mosaic Table Top and a Lovely DIY Geometric Wood Table Top with similar style.
If you’re not a woodworker, there’s a beautiful Herringbone Coffee Table for sale on Amazon. And this stunning rustic wood Dining Table has a similar look to this herringbone table.
A side view look at the Herringbone Dining Table. I think I’d go with chunky wood pedestal legs If I were going to build this. Or maybe two of the DIY Wood Pedestal Table Bases I made for my kitchen table.
Here’s more beautiful furniture that was used to stage this home. Which is your favorite? Which would you buy or build for your home? That leaning drawer bookshelf is very popular on my Pinterest account.
This Maple Butcher Block Island was for sale at Home Goods for $1500, guys! I mean, c’mon furniture builders. You know you could build this for so much less. 🙂
And, Amazon has tons of beautiful small butcher block Kitchen Islands for much less than the cost of this one.
I love the design on this pedestal side table. I could pretty easily change it a bit and build my own without fancy tools.
In fact, I kind of used it as my inspiration when I built my DIY Pedestal Accent Table using premade wood rounds from Lowes and mostly just 1×3’s and my Miter Saw for the rest of the build.
This leaning drawer bookshelf was really pretty in person. Sorry I didn’t get a better picture. It’s made to look like upcycled drawers. It’s a super cute idea for game room storage!
This highly rated bookshelf on Amazon has a similar style and is very budget-friendly.
Mixing a bit of hidden storage with open display areas gives this Rustic Living Room Bookshelf Idea more functionality than a completely open design. If you prefer buying over building, this Rustic Bookcase is beautiful too.
The stain color and design of this wall mounted bedside table is a bit more rustic than I usually go for. But, the form is pretty and definitely worthy of being furniture design inspiration.
I love the built in light and chunky drawer. The hardware on the 4-corners of this wall mounted nightstand dresses it up nicely too.
These X-base end tables are always so sweet and pretty. I’ll have to build one someday. I love the color on this one, the clean lines, and the hardware they picked to accent it.
I did find this exact nightstand for sale on Amazon and it comes in tons of pretty colors!!!

There is so much inspiration in this post its hard to know where to start, If I could have only one thing it has to be that large round end table although I really do not need one. If there is one thing that I do need and like its the scounce, ours are builder grade and I loathe all four of them.
Hubs refuses to go to home shows with me, he knows I would end up wanting a new house. Bahahaha, he knows me well . Pinning
