I am LOVING our new Classic White Marble Bathroom with Blue Cabinets. Here’s all of the Before and After Master Bathroom Remodel photos.
Before and After Master Bathroom Remodel
Hi guys. I’ve been putting this post off for way to long. It’s finally time to share my finished Before and After Master Bathroom Remodel photos with you all.
And, I’m so excited about how this classic looking, traditional style white marble design turned out. The Navy Blue Vanities look just beautiful with all of that marble.
And, I saved thousands of dollars on this remodel by doing a lot of the work myself. I only hired a plumber to move the plumbing, demo the old bathroom, and install the new fixtures and counters.
Everything else was done by me and I’ve got all of the DIY details in previous posts and videos. Let’s get to those pictures. 🙂
You can find all of the DIY videos from this Master Bathroom Remodel in this YouTube playlist.
White Marble & Blue Bathroom Makeover Photos
I shared these photos along with the new design plans a few months ago. It’s always amazing to see how far this bathroom has come. This room is the last major remodel that we needed to do in this house.
You can see what we did with our kitchen remodel here. And, be sure to check out our amazing Before and After Family Room Makeover On A Budget!
You can find details about everything I used in this bathroom at the end of this post.
The Old Dingy Shower Was Transformed
This shower door is that old 90’s horrible gold AND it was corroded all along the bottom. I’m so happy to see this go. 🙂
This new frameless glass shower door is such a huge improvement over that old corroded and nasty door.
I had them make the door about 10″ higher than standard and I took the tile up 12″ over the old shower enclosure.
It’s amazing how much larger the room feels by just taking advantage of the vertical space.
I shared tips and a video about how I installed that new shower niche here. The old niche was so tiny it didn’t hold anything. This new niche is perfect. It holds all our extra big bottles with room to spare.
I have details on that mosaic tile and some install tips and a video here. I love that new tile. Both the leaf pattern and small rectangle marble mosaics are from Home Depot.
Flooring Details
We lived with orange tile floors and very chipped up cabinets for 7 years while I was busy on other projects. Yikes, I can’t believe we put up with it that long.
That white faux marble floor and lighter walls also help to make the room feel larger, lighter, and more inviting.
The 12×24 floor tile is a great deal from Floor & Decor. It has a matte finish, which I am all about lately. I shared flooring install tips and a video for it here.
It took me a few weeks to tile this whole bathroom but it was so worth it. I saved thousands of dollars doing this myself. That rug runner is from Target. It has a rubber back and works great outside the shower.
Drop In Tub Changes
The old tub came into the room about 8″ further than the new one. Opening up that space helped make the room feel larger.
We also wanted to get rid of the jets that we never used. Those jets were so hard to keep clean.
The new extra deep drop in tub was a huge improvement on the old jetted tub. It fits the room better and is so deep.
It’s like a swimming pool for my little boys. Tiling the surround adds extra style and detail to this space. I just love marble tile, guys.
I kind of planned this whole Before and After Master Bathroom Remodel around that white marble tile. 🙂
Bathroom Decor and Lighting Changes
There were too many small decor pieces around the tub too. Switching to one large picture, one large plant, larger mirrors, and a larger light makes the room feel larger.
I panicked a little when I opened the box for that new Pottery Barn Capiz Light Fixture. I was afraid it was too big, but it turned out that the larger size actually made the whole bathroom feel grander and larger.
Pottery Barn discontinued that light but Amazon has some pretty Capiz Chandeliers you might like.
Vanity Upgrades
The old small mirrors and light bar made the room feel smaller. I replaced the light bar with can lights above the vanities.
Those extra high wood mirrors also raise the eye up and take better advantage of the 10′ high ceilings. Those mirrors are from Pottery Barn.
The old chippy, white vanities were updated with Dark Blue Chalk Paint and Dark Wax (click link for DIY details).
I added new stained plywood liners for the cabinet bottoms. It was an easy $6 update with Luan plywood from Lowes.
I also built a garbage can into the cabinet door of each vanity so that I could hide the garbage out of sight. Hiding the garbage can in a vanity is great for keeping babies and dogs out of the garbage too.
New Wall Art Above the Tub
I grabbed an old printed canvas that didn’t fit my style anymore and covered it in poured acrylic paint. Paint Pouring is a great easy DIY art project.
Going for 1 large canvas here instead of the 2 old pictures was another way going big actually made the room feel bigger and grander.
DIY Ceiling Feature
I’m a huge fan of molding and trim on ceilings. So, I bought some 1/4″ plywood and cut them into 6″ strips to create this DIY Plywood Plank Ceiling for the bathroom.
That ceiling makeover made that ceiling with too many levels and angels look more like the design feature it should have been.
That’s it for my Before and After Master Bathroom Remodel photos, guys. What do you think? Are you ready for a big bathroom remodel.
It will usually take a month or two but it’s so worth it. Now, here’s where to find everything I used in this Master Bathroom Remodel.

What a fabulous transformation. I liked the green you used originally, but the black and white is really effective, and the bathtub is gorgeous! Hey Stephanie, Awesome transformation. I think my two favorite parts are the cabinets with the trash cubbies and those gorgeous mirrors. It’s nice to bring in some color against all the white. Also nice hack for the plank ceiling. I did something similar in my half bath remodel that you can see on the blog. It was a faux shiplap chair rail inspired by Fixer Upper’s Hot sauce house. Again great job, when the time comes to redo our guest bathroom I am definitely going to add those trash drawers I just luv them.
